Concerning "A Shoggoth on the Roof"

Important! See the update in the news section!

Background

There is an excellent story behind the origins of the musical A Shoggoth on the Roof. I'm not going to tell it. To find out the story, purchase the libretto from the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society at http://www.cthululives.org. They also have a Shoggoth site. And, if you go to their store, you can hear samples from the score. (And buy the CD while you're there.)

Instead, I'm looking to solve another problem. You see, the Convergence convention's 10 year anniversary is coming up in 2008. They're going to go an extra day and thus have an extra night. So, I'm seeing if there is interest in putting on a one-night-only performance of A Shoggoth on the Roof. There will be an information session at this year's Convergence (I think it's Friday at 5, but see the official program guide for the exact time/place.)

To do this, I'm going to need:

  • actors (who can sing: it's a musical)*;
  • musicians;
  • costumes, and people who can make them;
  • props, and people who can make them;
  • sets, and people can make them;
  • publicity, and people who can do it better than I;
  • help with money: even though we're all volunteers, materials do cost money;
  • a choreographer (didn't I say? it's a musical); and
  • probably other roles that I haven't thought of (yet).

If you are interested, please contact me!

*: not me, my singing could drive Cthulhu away...
