The ISAN Utility program provides a set of source code, working examples, and example identifiers for the ISAN and V-ISAN identifier systems. It provides sample code that you can use to ensure compatability with other ISAN and V-ISAN identifier manipulation systems.
More information on the ISAN and V-ISAN identifier systems can be found at http://www.isan.org and http://www.v-isan.org. The ISAN system is defined in ISO 15706 and the V-ISAN system is defined in ISO 20925.
This RealBasic version provides an excellent starting place for any VisualBasic implementations.
ISAN Utility is provided as free software with no copyright: you are free to use and modify this code in any way that you like. After all, that's the whole point. The following are available:
RealBasic can be obtained from the RealSoftware site. This project uses RealBasic version 5.5.5.
Installation: just copy the
and the ISAN Utility.html files somewhere convenient and run the program. On Macintosh systems, be sure to use the Finder (or equvalent tool) for the copying.
